Visitors to online directories & IYPs drops 22% in 2013

Well we can see that website visits to online phone book directories like Yellowpages.com and Dexknows.com continue to drop as the searcher is being offered more and more local choices on the search engine result pages (SERP’s).  No longer are web searchers depending on directories and other data aggregate sites because of the broad choices being offered by individual websites here in Metro Denver and across the country.

When evaluating the “value” of a paid placement in these directories a continued decrease in the use of these sites doesn’t bode well for their long term survival and value for their customers.
